Alexandra (Alex) Miller, LCPC
Alexandra (Alex) Miller is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland and has been practicing for 3 years; she received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Counseling Psychology in 2015. Alex also has her Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Wellness Management and has spent 11 years working as a personal trainer. Alex uses her years of experience in the health and wellness industry, combined with her clinical skills, to look at her clients as a whole and help them see themselves in the same way.
Alex has worked both in private practice and in emergency room settings and has amassed a large network of community resources that she can call upon for her clients when necessary. Alex likes the day-to-day challenges variety of her job, but mostly values building rapport with the clients she sees on a regular basis. Alex enjoys working with clients who suffer from depression and anxiety; but also enjoys working with clients who suffer from low self-esteem, body image issues, and trouble with motivation, relationships and goal setting.
Alex has worked with patients who have experienced different kinds of trauma, and understands its complexities, and how trauma affect daily life. Alex uses an eclectic therapy style to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help manage moods and build effective coping skills.
Alex enjoys working with teenage clients to elder adults, although she has seen clients as young as age 6. Alex’s favorite part of being a clinician is watching her clients achieve steps towards success, whether they are big or small. I look forward to the opportunity to meet with, and listen to you.
